Headband:

Starting with Color A, this part will be worked in joined rounds.

  1. Chain 70, join with a slip st to beginning st. This will become the band that goes around your head so double check that the chain fits around your head! You can add or subtract stitches to make it fit, it will not affect the pattern. (70)
  2. Ch 1, hdc around, join to ch 1 (70)
  3. Ch 1, insert your hook into the third loop of the hdc located at the back, on the wrong side of your work. This should great a braid on the right side of your work. Continue with hdc’s in the third loop around, join to ch 1 (70)
  4. -5. Repeat Row 3

Fasten off and weave in ends.

This is what your stitches should look like crocheting in the third loop. Make sure you are forming this braid on the right side of your piece.
This will be what the band should look like!
Make sure you have these braids!

Assembly:

  • Place one of the inner ears onto an outer ear and sew together
  • Fold the top edge down and sew the first 4 stitches
  • Repeat for the other ear
  • Place the headband on a flat surface with the seam directly in the center touching the surface and the opposite side facing you
  • Place the ear pieces on either side of the headband and sew into place
  • Sew the horns into place between the ears, make sure to leave enough space between for the pentagram
  • It may take a few tries to get the pentagram right
  • Come up through the bottom of the headband, up to near your first horn and back down to your first point, bring the yarn up to the next horn making sure that the “V” shape you have formed is even. Next bring the needle half way between the “V” and across forming the horizontal line. Bring the needle back up through the first side of the horizontal line and up to the opposite horn then repeat on the other side. Tie the ends together well and weave them in but be careful to keep them hidden from the right side of the headband.
